This holiday season, we invite our community to unite and share a sense of hope—hope for the health and well-being of our neighbors. Since January Open Heart Kitchen launched the Vineyard Resource Center, established Open Heart Refuge (overnight, year-round shelter) , helped 5 shelter guests secure permanent housing, and even built a state-of-the-art food bank to revolutionize food distribution in our community. It's time to embrace hope, but also to take action.
Food insecurity is closer than we think, affecting friends, neighbors, and coworkers right here in the Tri-Valley. Approximately 11% of residents in Alameda County experience food insecurity. This translates to around 138,000 individuals, including nearly 50,000 children.
This winter, you can be a light in someone’s life. Help ensure no one in our community goes hungry or without safe shelter this holiday season with your gift to support Open Heart Kitchen.
